Is primary care a neglected piece of the jigsaw in ensuring optimal stroke care? Results of a national study

In a nutshell: This study provides details of a national survey undertaken to determine current resources and needs for optimal stroke prevention and care in general practice. GP’s were questioned on topics such as practice organisation, primary prevention, acute management, secondary prevention, long-term care and rehabilitation. The study concludes that general practices are not fulfilling their potential in providing stroke prevention and long-term management.
